President Donald Trump signed an executive order to add a 25% tariff on all automobiles coming over the United States border from Canada and Mexico that goes into effect on April 3rd, 2025.
The big question on everyone's mind, "How will this affect the price of their vehicles built in those countries". I have had many people reach out to me asking about how this will affect the 2025 Ford Maverick they have on order but has not crossed over the border yet. Will the tax be added as it crosses? Will the vehicles currently in transit get a higher price? Will Ford honor price protection on my order?
Ford answered that question loud and clear today with their Ford Motor Company, From America, For America campaign that starts April 3rd and runs through June 2nd. Almost every vehicle will get Employee Pricing. That is a big statement by Ford to not only say that prices won't increase but they will do one better, prices are going down.

Let me give you the full details on this campaign. There are some vehicles that don't qualify for Employee Pricing, 2025 Ford Super Duty, 2025 Ford Expedition, 2025 Lincoln Navigator, Mustang Dark Horse, Ford Bronco Stroppe, Ford Bronco Heritage Limited, and all Raptors. Employee Pricing Program is voluntary for all dealers. Dealers that participate in the program will see a 5% adjusted Employee Price Dealer Cash to help offset the below invoice price that customers will receive during the program. Another thing I noticed is the change in rebates, many of the vehicles lost some rebates especially the 2024 Ford F-150, where rebates went from $5,500 in some regions to $500. Another example is on the 2024 Ford Expedition that received a $7,000 rebate in March, now has a $2,000 rebate. The big winners of this program are on vehicles like the Ford Maverick, Bronco Sport, Mustang, Escape, Bronco, Ranger which had very little rebate last month. The 2024 Ford Escape PHEV has the best deal with Employee Pricing and $5,000 rebate.
This offer is good on any purchase or lease of an in stock vehicle, any ordered vehicle that arrives at your participating dealers before June 2nd or on any ordered vehicle between now and June 2nd. The offer can be locked for those wanting to order but are afraid their vehicle won't show up until after June 2nd. Any vehicle that is in production or in transit to the dealer, will need to arrive before June 2nd to get this special pricing.
