The Ford Maverick started production of the 2025 model year earlier this month at the Hermosillo plant in Mexico. This year’s Maverick gets a refreshed front end, AWD Hybrid version, interior upgrades including the larger screens, and a new factory built lowered street truck called Lobo. Ford also updated the Ford Maverick with some technology to help you pull trailers with that new AWD Hybrid that can also add the 4k tow package.
You will see a new Co-Pilot 360 2.0 Package that receives a 360 Degree Camera on your higher trim levels like the Lariat, Tremor, and the Lobo 702A. There are 2 other features included in that package on vehicles built on or after 2/3/2025. They will also receive the Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist. We have seen these features introduced in the Ford F-150 several years ago as well as available on the Ford Ranger in 2024. Ford will start to schedule these orders this week for those production dates in February.
The Pro Trailer Backup Assist allows you to backup the trailer just by using the dial on the dash and your 360 degree camera. It controls the steering when you move the dial right or left to steer the trailer. The Pro Trailer Hitch Assist allows you to backup your truck to your trailer with no need for someone to guide you or tell you when to stop. Both of these new trailer assist features require the 360 camera system which is why they are not available on the XL or XLT and are not part of the 4K Tow Package.
Ford also introduced a factory lowered street truck in the Ford Maverick for 2025 with the introduction of the Lobo trim. The fully loaded up 702A Lobo trim was available to order back in August but would not start production until February as well. Those that ordered that trim level have been waiting for their order to get scheduled for a production date. That could happen starting this week for those February production dates for the startup of job 2.
Something else that will be available starting today is a less expensive Lobo version with “XLT” type features but all the performance you would expect from the Lobo trim is the Lobo 402A. The Lobo 402A, which I told you about in October starts at $35,100 instead of $40k. This can be ordered later today and scheduled for production dates. You can learn about all the features that comes with the Lobo 402A in the video I recorded in August of this year.
The job 2 order bank opens later today for those wanting the Lobo 402A starting at $35k or wanting the Lariat, Tremor, Lobo 702A with those new trailer features. If you already have an order placed and you want the trailer features you could receive them if your 2025 Ford Maverick is being built on or after 2/3/25. If your order is scheduled to be built before that, your Maverick will not see these features.
